Together with our American and New Zealand counterparts, ACLCA and LCANZ, ALCAS manages a certification program for Certified Lifecycle Executive (CLE). Part of ALCAS’ advocacy for broad uptake of life cycle assessment as a sustainability assessment framework includes increased understanding and interpretation of LCA. You don’t need to be a practitioner to be an expert in LCA application in strategy or product development. The CLE certification was developed in conformity with the ISO 17024 standard and demonstrates that the individual understands the basics of LCA, and can interpret and communicate LCA results to the general public. The CLE certification is useful for professionals such as architects, purchasing agents and sustainability managers, just to name a few.
