Obituary for Tim Edwards

It’s with sadness that we announce the death of Tim Edwards, and former ALCAS secretary and stalwart for promoting the use of LCA in industry.

Tim became involved in ALCAS though his role with the Building Products Innovation Council (BPIC) and saw the great potential for LCA to support a sustainable building industry. He undertook LCA training and become supporter of ALCAS and its programs almost immediately.

In 2011 he joined the ALCAS board and immediately took the role of secretary (hardest working and least rewarding position) for the next two years. Over this period he was involved in some of ALCAS’ most turbulent history and throughout he managed to be diplomatic while always being straightforward.

After leaving the board in 2013 Tim remained a member of ALCAS and always advocated on our behalf with industry. In helping to organise the 2013 conference on the Gold Coast, Tim led the charge to have a golf day on the third day and I truly believe the LCA profession would be better off if we had followed his advice.

Tim will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all at ALCAS.
