CSIRO Leads Move to Develop LCI for Mineral Industry

CSIRO will be leading a move to develop the life cycle inventory database for the mineral industry (AusMinLCI) under the larger scheme of AusLCI.

A working group is currently being formed and anyone interested in participating is asked to contact Nawshad Haque.

The objective of the AusMinLCI working group is to develop the LCI database for mining and mineral industry, so the LCA practitioners can undertake LCA for mineral and metal products quicker and in a cost-effective manner. The database will also benefit any product LCA which has a significant upstream data requirement from mineral processing or metal production.

The LCI database will be used both for LCA and to improve understanding of the value chain in the mineral industry.
