Defining functional units
Tim Grant
Date: Friday 7 April 2017
Time: 2pm-3:30pm AEST
The definition of the functional unit is one of the most fundamental and critical aspects of life cycle assessment. It also is one of the most confusing for people new to the area.
This webinar will cover:
Separate compulsory and optional properties of product services;
Choice of units in a functional unit;
Choice of scale including timescale and geographical scales;
Position along the functionality continuum (for example - car travel - passenger transport - population mobility - access to services).
The webinar will have options for Q&A both on the topic and more generally on life cycle assessment. It will also provide opportunities for participants to describe their research and activities. The aim is to have one student present some research work for each webinar.
The student webinar is also available to all ALCAS members and people participating are eligible for CPD points for the certified practitioner program.
