Climate Active’s third party validation procedures ensures that carbon neutral claims certified under Climate Active remain high integrity. The requirements for third party validations are set out in the Validation Schedule of the Licence Agreement.
In addition to technical assessments by Registered Consultants, carbon neutral claims can be subject to a source data check (Type 1 validation), an assurance engagement (Type 2 validation), or a peer review and source data check on a life-cycle assessment (LCA) (Type 3 validation).
For awareness, ALCAS Certified Life Cycle Assessment Practitioners (ACLCP) who are also EPD Australasia approved verifiers, or who meet the Type 1 or Type 2 Validation requirements outlined in the Licence Agreement, are eligible to undertake Climate Active Third Party Validations.
