New European study explores best options for reducing emissions in energy intensive industries

A new study, published by Heidelberg Cement and Bellona Europa for the Zero Emissions Platform, explores the options available to energy intensive industries needing to stay competitive in a low carbon economy.  The study explored electrification, CCU (carbon capture and utilisation) and CCS (carbon capture and storage) and concluded that to achieve the lion’s share of emissions reductions, the CO2 produced must be stored (CCS).
